I decided to take a trip down memory lane today. I’m dropping a video below where I fired up Jimster’s old solution, just to see it in action again. Watching this run just reminded me of the absolute golden era of this game.
I’ve been sitting here comparing the 2013-2020 days of CS:GO to the absolute dumpster fire that CS2 is right now, and honestly? It’s just depressing. Back then, yeah, people used tools. We were on sites like this pushing the limits of the engine. But the game still had a soul. The community was tighter, the mechanics were pure, and it was about outsmarting the system. Now? CS2 is just shit (imho).
LC "tool" from back in the day was simple, effective, and respected the game it was built for. CS2 doesn't even respect itself anymore. It's lost its identity.

- The Cheating Epidemic: There is zero art to the scene anymore. It used to be a niche community of actual developers. Now, everyone is cheating with low-effort, pasted garbage. The servers are completely infested. Premier is unplayable, and queuing up just feels like a chore.
- The Skin Casino: What is Valve’s response to the game rotting from the inside out? They push more and more skins. Every major update is just another cash grab, another shiny texture to distract the player base from the fact that the underlying game is fundamentally broken. They don't care about competitive integrity, they only care about the Steam Market transaction fees.
- Ruining the Core Gameplay: The absolute final straw for me is the actual gameplay changes. They are trying so hard to reinvent the wheel that they’ve broken the entire vehicle. What is with this new update where you can't even do a normal reload without dropping your mag? We’ve spent over a decade building up specific muscle memory, and now they want to punish us with clunky, mil-sim mechanics that nobody asked for. It disrupts the flow, it feels heavy, and it completely ruins the fast-paced rhythm that made CS legendary.

Also you had there overwatch which put a bit of limit with what you could do in MM.
