As of right now there is no statement on a Christmas sale and last detection and the only detection was 19 months ago. By linking your account do you mean forums account?

By linking I mean whatever it says when you sign up, "New subscribers: Remember to link your account to receive VIP access."

That isn't hard and you can do it once the cheat is purchased

Yes it was detected March 2015 and 1/3 of the customer base was banned due to themida.
The cheat came out October 2012.
